What You Need to Know About Buying Wholesale

I often receive e-mails from my newsletter subscribers sharing the frustrations they experience when buying wholesale products to resell for a profit. The issue is not that they can't locate the right product to resell, but most people run into the problem when they think that they have found a really good product or wholesale distributor...

But then they are disappointed to find that the product is already selling for less on eBay!

They may not even be able to break even, let alone make a profit!

Here is an example of an e-mail that I commonly receive from people who want to buy wholesale.

"I found a really hot product that should be quite profitable, the market is not too saturated with them. I'm looking for true and honest information on how to actually make a profit.

I have heard this too many times, and I know where they are coming from. I've been there myself. This was a big problem I had when I first began. I hunted the internet, and made calls all over looking for legitimate wholesale liquidators and product that I could profit from on eBay. But, whenever I found something that looked good, I wouldn't even be able to make my money back selling it on eBay let alone make a profit.

That can be quite discouraging!?!

Here is what I say to those in this situation: You can still make a profit on the backend of your sale, even if you don't make any money on the sale of the product! Many people think that the only way they can make money is on the initial sale. This could not be further from the truth.

Another common question is, "So what about those wholesale lists"?

Most of these lists are junk. They are usually thrown together by someone doing a google search and writing down the url's. You can do that for yourself for free.

Or...

the situation is that even though these might really be legitimate wholesale liquidators, most people do not understand the fact that there is quite a difference between wholesale, liquidation and surplus merchandise. This is a common misunderstanding, but it is a very important point to learn the difference if you plan to be successful in the game.

Most of the people selling on eBay are not actually selling wholesale merchandise. They are more likely selling liquidated or surplus products. There is a huge difference between those. You really need to understand what theses differences are. If eBay sellers do sell products wholesale, they usually don't make much of a profit because the market is too competitive. There are too many other sellers pricing below wholesale costs. They can do this because they are not dealing with wholesale products!

Quite a few people end up quitting because they did not have this information before they began. I have used this information and been quite successful selling full time on eBay. You can make a profit if you do things correctly. Unfortunately, if you don't you can end up losing your shirt!

I know frustration can lead to discouragement, but hang in there! You can be successful!
